Wimbledon 2022 | Djokovic on the hunt for seventh title, Kyrgios awaits in final

The hunt for his seventh title at Wimbledon is still on. And who would have thought that after the 2-0 deficit in sets against Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals. But it is 'business as usual' for Novak Djokovic, as he prepares for the semi-final in London. In Cameron Norrie he has the ideal opponent to qualify for the final, for which his potential opponent is already known. The match between Djokovic and Norrie can be followed live on this page on Friday afternoon.

Prior to Wimbledon, it was already clear that the red carpet could be rolled out for Djokovic towards the final. The draw was very favourable since most of the top players and specialists on grass were all in the part of the schedule where the Serb was not assigned. But then again, you have to live up to it and overcome the difficult hurdles that come your way. Last Tuesday's quarterfinal against Jannik Sinner looked like it was going to be the stumbling block for Djokovic. The talented Italian boldly took a 2-0 lead in sets and seemed to have the game on lock. But a collapse followed and Djokovic was able to easily secure victory in sets three, four and five.

In the semi-finals, Cameron Norrie awaits. The Brit is playing a fine tournament in front of his own audience, but also escaped in the quarterfinals. The 26-year-old Englishman had his hands full with the Belgian veteran David Goffin. The fighting spirit and support from the stands helped Norrie come out on top in this grueling three-and-a-half-hour battle. And that was not for the first time this tournament, because in the second round Norrie also needed five sets to get rid of the Spaniard Jaume Munar. Norrie is a fairly all-round player who has had good results mainly on hard courts and gravel. In the run-up to Wimbledon, the results on grass were not too good and so the expectations in London were not high.

Djokovic heavily favored, Kyrgios awaits in final

At the betting shops, people are convinced that Djokovic is going to win the duel with Norrie. And quite simply too, because with odds of 1.07 vs 9.00 on the Serbs favour, they express little confidence in the Englishman. Do you see Norrie, just like Tim van Rijthoven, snatching a set from Djokovic? Then a nice odd of 2.37 awaits you. Norrie winning two sets is rewarded with an odd of 5.50.

Even before the semi-finals have begun, one of the finalists is already known. Nick Kyrgios has finally reached his dream final at Wimbledon. His opponent in the semi-finals, Rafael Nadal, has had to withdraw from the tournament. The Spaniard picked up an injury in the quarterfinals against Taylor Fritz. Futher inspection revealed a significant muscle tear in the abdomen, which is impossible to ignore even for Nadal. The betting shops will give you back 3.25 times your bet if Kyrgios manages to win the tournament on Sunday.
