Who will succeed Lewandowski as top scorer in the Bundesliga?

For the past few years, the question of who would become the Bundesliga's top scorer was very easy to answer. Put your money on Robert Lewandowski and you knew you were in for some extra pocket money at the end of the season. Now that the Pole has left Bayern Munich however, it will be interesting to look out for his successor. The betting shops see Sadio Mané as the biggest candidate.

For twelve seasons, Bundesliga fans were able to enjoy the skills of Robert Lewandowski. In 2010, the Polish striker transferred from Lech Poznan to Borussia Dortmund. In four seasons for BVB Lewandowski scored 74 league goals. This put him in the spotlight of major rival Bayern Munich who signed him in 2014. In the eight seasons that followed his turnover rate was unprecedentedly high and only got better as the years went by. In eight seasons for Der Rekordmeister, the Polish phenomenon managed to score as many as 238 league goals!

Sadio Mané was brought in to succeed the Lewandowski who left for FC Barcelona. At Liverpool the Senegalese superstar was less productive than Lewandowski at Bayern, but his numbers are far from bad. In six seasons Mane managed to score no less than 90 Premier League goals for The Reds. All eyes will be on Mané this season who is the big favourite at the betting shops to succeed Lewandowski (odd 4.50). In second place is Bayer Leverkusen striker and EURO 2020 sensation Patrik Schick who accounted for 24 goals last season.
