After enjoying three weeks of the Giro d'Italia, we are already looking forward to the next big event. And that, of course, is the Tour de France. From 1 July 2022 until 24 July 2022, the Tour is scheduled. The analyses and previews will be online on this site in mid-June. For now, we just look at who the favorites are for the overall victory at the bookmakers.
Prior to a major cycling event the bookmakers always come up with their list of favorites. Looking back at the Giro, we didn't see the final winner, Jai Hindley, in the top-10 contenders. Therefore, we attach more value to our own analyses, but a month in advance is still a little too early for that.
Looking at the odds of the bookies we see Tadej Pogačar as the big favorite for the yellow jersey. The odds are so low, 1.50, that the bookies are very confident the Slovenian will take the yellow jersey to Paris. In second place is his compatriot Primoz Roglic with an odd of 4.33 followed by Jonas Vingegaard with an odd of 6.00. In the table below we have worked out the top 10 contenders for.
